Outstanding Client of the Quarter: Madory, Zell, Pleiss & McGrath APC

Fall 2012

Every quarter, Afinety selects a firm to name as the “Outstanding Client of the Quarter.”  This quarter we would like to recognize Madory, Zell, Pleiss & McGrath APC.  The firm will receive a catered lunch delivered to their Tustin office, along with our thanks and admiration.

All of our clients are special to us and the relationships we form with them are very much a partnership.  The Outstanding Client of the Quarter is selected for their professionalism as well as the benefits they receive from Afinety’s unique standardization and planned refresh approach.  A professional firm like Madory, Zell, Pleiss & McGrath APC requires a professional computer system and this becomes part of their own clients’ perception of the firm.

We caught up with firm’s legal administrator, Marilyn Hodges, who started with the firm in 1962, as well as attorney / network administrator, Patricia Scidmore, who has been with the firm since 1992.
Side note:  Both of these busy women have had separate careers. Before becoming an attorney, Patricia was a registered nurse for 20 years and worked as a Staff Nurse in Critical Care and Emergency Department Nursing and as a Director of a Critical Care Unit.  Marilyn taught legal secretary courses at Orange Coast College in 1968.  She then worked with another administrator to create Paralegal courses at the community college level in Orange County, as well as doing guest teaching at UCI.

The firm was originally introduced to Afinety during an Orange County Association of Legal Administrators event many years ago.  “We’re on our third Afinety network and our experiences have been fantastic!” explained Marilyn.  Patricia added that she is impressed with the extensive knowledge of the Afinety staff.  “The onsite and remote techs are extremely helpful, skilled, efficient and responsive.”

As with all of our clients, Madory, Zell, Pleiss & McGrath relies upon a smooth running network designed to meet their needs.  “We have staff members that arrive at our office very early in the morning and Afinety’s Pittsburgh, PA office accommodates this by completing the monitoring and automatic patching and update services without business interruption,” mentioned Patricia.

Afinety’s standardized network enables the firm to work with minimal interruptions, in the most cost-efficient manner.  Marilyn explained that the firm had gone through some changes throughout the years and wanted to hold off on upgrading their network.  “Our second Afinety network lasted 9 years, which is a testament to how solid Afinety networks really are,” Marilyn described.

Patricia mentioned that Afinety goes “above and beyond” by working with 3rd party companies so that all applications integrate properly into the system.  “This helps our firm to be more efficient,” she added.

When asked why they have recommended Afinety’s services to others, Patricia responded with one word, “Confidence.” She also mentioned how important it is to her that Afinety techs offer hands-on “how to” instructions in plain English. “The networks are great. The services are great,” concluded Marilyn.
